Currently there are three orders: the Order of Themis, the Order of Hyperion, and the Order of Astraeus. Two of the Orders have been fleshed out significantly, Themites and Astraeans. Themites, from the Order of Themis, are peacekeepers, physical defenders. They can choose from six playable classes: sharpshooter, gunslinger, peace broker, drudge, enforcer, and Themite disciple. Astraeans, from the Order of Astraeus, are field workers, responsible for the control of the Xenodrones. The Astraeans are a caster type and have only one playable class. However, the Astraeans have three types of modular, progressively customizable, player controlled drones.
Read on for some lore concerning the Orders.
The Order of Themis
The Order of Themis, originally called the Council of Order, consists of a group of Quasi enhanced Humans programmed for combat and protection. The Order of Themis, unlike the Council of Order, no longer forcibly recruits subjects to participate in the program, as the number of applicants outweighs the need. Only the most physically fit candidates are recruited into the Order of Themis.
The Order of Themis was initially created during the year after the escape from earth. Invoked by the System, Xenites forcibly occupied and re-purposed a percentage of the Human population. These re-purposed Humans, called the Council of Order by others, were programmed to protect all Humans and to steadfastly uphold and enforce the Rules.
The primary purpose of the Order of Themis is protecting the safety of Humans. Keeping strict order falls within the boundary of this purpose.
The Order of Hyperion
Xenites programmed to see to the improvement of the Human condition via medical maintenance were introduced shortly after the System recognized the need for the Council of Order. Panic erupted as Humans, forcibly subjected to the Medical Xenites, rioted against the Council of Order. At this time, the Council of Order was enlarged and re-partitioned; half of the Council of Order became the Order of Themis and out of the other half, the Order of Hyperion was born.
Xenites, naturally invisible to the naked Human eye, scared people. By reprogramming Humans to interact with patients during medical care, people’s suspicions were eased and, over time, became easier to maintain by the System.
The riots, better known as the Xenite Conflict, were violently quelled by the newly re-formed Order of Themis.
The Order of Astraeus
The Order of Astraeus was formed when the Human agricultural workers rebelled against the Workers leading them in the fields. Xenites occupied all of the human field workers and adapted the converted Humans to control Xenodrones.
